Who would you vote for as mayor?

16 September – 8 October

The results of our online survey are in.

Susan O’Regan was a runaway winner for mayor in The News’ first online poll of the local body elections.

But the result shows she proved more savvy on social and digital media than Jim Mylchreest, the other mayoral candidate.

We asked “Who would you vote for as mayor if an election was held today.”

Within minutes of the poll going live on our website, and before The News had even shared the link on our own social media platforms, votes for O’Regan started coming in.

Watch out for future online polls.
