Change to Te Awamutu board

John Wood

John Wood will join the Te Awamutu Community Board after provisional votes saw him oust provisional member Norris Hall today. Special votes are yet to come.

Wood, a semi-retired drainlayer/plumber, has links with Pirongia having been chairperson of the Pirongia Community Assocation for 11 years.

Preliminary results have seen mayor Susan O’Regan’s margin of victory extended – she secured 6793 votes, 1953 votes of Jim Mylchreest in second.

In the race to be top polling candidate in Cambridge, Mike Pettit pipped Liz Stolwyk by 19 votes.

No changes on the Cambridge Community Board although the gap widened slightly between Elise Badger and David Slone for the fourth spot.

The voter return was 39.63%, being 15,695 votes, excluding special votes. Read the preliminary results:
