Stars on Stage

Lights…camera…action! Te Awamutu Intermediate’s latest production ‘Little Stars’ is on its way.

The musical follows the behind the scenes story of five finalists as they compete in the TV hit sensation singing competition seeking the next… Little Star. There’s as much action behind the scenes of the TV show as on stage. Crooked judges, hyperactive presenters, audition fails, and a live studio audience – it’s a perfect parody of the well-loved Idol TV format… and just as humorous.

A cast and crew of 70 students, plus a crew of teachers, have been rehearsing since last term, and are excited to finally be able to perform for the public.

The show, directed by Jill Shaw and Tracy Ellis, with musical direction by Sue Germann, begins its season on next Tuesday – June 29, 2021, at 7.30pm, and runs for three nights. Tickets are available at the Te Awamutu Intermediate School office.

Head to Te Awamutu Intermediate to find out who will be the next Little Star.

Pictured, at rehearsals were, from left, “judges” Anna Swney, Wyatt Empson and Yasmin Wilcox and “finalists” Jake Soanes, Aron Gyorke, Lily Dixon, Saraiah Hongara and Lexi Diack.
